Young Star Helps Propel Americas Baseball League to Win in Midseason Classic: All-Star Santo Domingo Palmchats' shortstop Luys Pegas had a night to remember.
Not only did he take the field with the game's best players, he was also a huge factor in the 9-7 Americas Baseball League victory over the Intercontinental Baseball League All-Stars.
"We had a meeting before the game, and I was struck by the talent in the room. Old stars, young stars, it's a game I'll never forget," Pegas said. "I talked to a few of my friends from back home, and they told me to go out and win the game for them. I'm sure they'll be thrilled."
Lifetime Pegas is hitting .262 with 196 hits, 36 home runs, 142 runs scored and 126 RBIs.
