Yarmouth-Dennis Takes Round 2: The joy and relief on the faces of the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox players was obvious as they celebrated their Round 2 win over the Harwich Mariners.
"In a series like this, the smallest thing can make the difference in how it turns out," said Yarmouth-Dennis second baseman Casey Courtney, shortly after the 9-4 win that clinched the series 2-1. "We're happy we did what it takes to get it done."
The team is now off to the Cape Cup.
Courtney won series MVP honors on the strength of his .400 batting average during the series. He also had a .438 on-base percentage and 2 home runs, drove in 7 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The Cape Cup matchups and schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.
