Wright and Villanueva Swapped: A trade was announced today at a press conference in Toronto. Not satisfied with their current roster, the Toronto Blue Jays general manager shook things up by acquiring 26-year old 1B Ramon Villanueva, 26-year old minor league 3B Alberto Pineda, a 1st round draft pick, a 2nd round draft pick, a 3rd round draft pick, and $5,000,000 in cash from the San Diego Padres for 25-year old LF Chris Wright.

"We're a better team now," Blue Jays general manager Dan Silva said. "We've added several pieces to the puzzle."

Wright is hitting .249 this year with 24 home runs, 70 RBIs and 57 runs scored. He has 95 hits in 382 at-bats, 45 walks and a .329 on-base percentage. Wright has played in 100 games.

For the season Villanueva is batting .242 with 100 hits and 29 home runs. He has scored 63 times and batted in 67.
