Whitacre Gets Number 2000: It took quite a few years to do it, but Sean Whitacre finally did it. The Angels first baseman swatted hit #2000 this afternoon at Progressive Field, but still came up short in the victory column. The Cleveland Guardians came away with a 7-4 win over Los Angeles. Whitacre was 1-for-3 in the loss.

In his career Whitacre has compiled a .282 batting average and collected 2000 hits, 520 home runs and 1443 RBIs.
