Vikings, Phantoms Agree to Swap: BNN is reporting a rumored trade between the Minneapolis Vikings and Chicago Phantoms has been finalized. The deal, which is expected to be announced sometime during the next few hours, will reportedly send 28-year old SS Manny Zepeda to Chicago in return for 19-year old minor league RHP Lesley Deakin and 23-year old minor league 2B Midori Morikawa. The clubs were noncommittal on the trade, but did not deny it.
Zepeda is swinging at a .216 pace on the year with 2 home runs, 16 RBIs and 37 runs scored. He has played in 95 games.
So far this year in 36 games Morikawa is hitting .268 with no home runs, 15 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
