Top MASH Reliever Honored: Spencer Springsteen was dominant and cool under pressure this year, and his standout performance has earned the San Francisco Seals starting pitcher recognition as the 2059 The Mash Reliever of the Year Award.

"I was just doing my job, and my job is to get people out," said the 27-year-old out of Seattle, Washington.

The award winner made 48 relief appearances this year and had 20 saves. He fanned 68 batters in 70.2 innings, with 12 walks. He pitched to a record of 5 wins and 6 losses to go with his 1.91 ERA.

He received 20 first place votes out of a possible 24. Dave Childers of the Tuscaloosa Yellowhammers finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Kurtis Sipin of the Harrisburg Capitals finished third.
