Thrice Is Nice: Waite Unloads 3 Homers: In a powerful performance that left the fans at H.P. Hunnicutt Field buzzing, Raleigh Cubs center fielder Jake Waite blasted a trio of home runs en route to a 13-9 win over the Princeton Rays.

"Everything was clicking," Waite told the press. "My timing was good and I got pitches I could handle and I didn't miss them."

Waite shined brilliantly in the win, with 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 5 RBIs and 4 runs scored.

"It's not just one guy, it's everybody," Cubs manager John Sweet said. "Jake played great but it takes more than one guy to win a game."

Jake Waite flied out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Stan Betancourt in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off London Rogers in the 7th, walked in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Stanley Walker in the 9th.

This season Waite is batting .268 with 28 RBIs, 21 runs scored and 9 home runs.
