Threshers Heading to Round 2: The Nephi Threshers are riding high after winning the Round 1 and eliminating the Rochester River Sharks by a series score of 4-1.
The final blow came tonight at Ballpark of Rochester, when Nephi secured its spot in the Round 2 with a 4-1 victory.
"It feels good to put them away because we really didn't want to let them crawl back into this series," said second baseman Barry Hullender, who was named series MVP. "A team like that, you need to bury them when you get the chance."
Hullender certainly helped his team's cause, as he hit .333 with a .364 on-base percentage in the series. He also chipped in 1 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 6 runs.
The Nephi Threshers will play against the Portland Pickles in the next round. Portland won their series against the Philadelphia Avalanche 4 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
