St. Louis, Minnesota Deal Made: The Terriers and Twins announced a deal that was completed today. St. Louis sent 29-year old 2B Dave Barto and $1 in cash to Minnesota for 34-year old RHP Antonio Viruet. Both teams appear happy with the outcome of the trade. The general managers told the Baseball News Network they felt the swap was beneficial for all parties involved.
Minnesota will retain a portion of Viruet's remaining contract.
This season Barto is batting .246 with 28 hits, 5 home runs, 24 RBIs, 21 walks, .360 OBP and has scored 23 runs. He has played in 58 games.
