Semifinals Goes the Distance, Hoover HS Prevails: The Hoover HS Pirates were paced by a strong offensive output from Louis May as they downed the White Hall HS Hounds 2-1 to win the Semifinals.

Hoover HS won the final game by a score of 6-5 at Hound Park to send themselves off to the HS Championship.

"I wasn't so much focused on putting up big offensive numbers as I was about ensuring we won the games. So it's mission accomplished there," said first baseman May, who was named MVP.

For the series, the MVP hit .455 with a .625 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 4 runs.

The HS Championship matchups and schedule will be announced after the Semifinals finishes.
