Season Over for Manny Ricardo in Arizona: Arizona starting pitcher Manny Ricardo could miss the remainder of the season because of a torn labrum. He exited yesterday's Las Vegas game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Ricardo would be out 6-7 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."

So far this year Ricardo has made 31 starts, tossed 157.2 innings, struck out 121 batters and walked 42. His record is 7-12 with a 5.88 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .306 batting average.
