Message:
Season Ends for John Girard of Springfield: John Girard will soon find out from his doctors if his season will continue. The first diagnosis was not too positive and indicated the Springfield closer could miss the remainder of the year. Girard was injured while throwing a pitch in the Cardinals-Drillers clash at ONEOK Field recently. Doctors said he has a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament and would be out a minimum of 13 months.

Girard has collected 6 saves for the year with 49 strikeouts and 16 walks in 47.2 innings while registering a 4.72 ERA and a 4-4 won-lost record.
