Schlitz Takes Paul Bunyan Trophy: The joy and relief on the faces of the Schlitz Tallboys players was obvious as they celebrated their Paul Bunyan Trophy win over the Santo Domingo Marauders.
"In a series like this, the smallest thing can make the difference in how it turns out," said Schlitz center fielder José Juárez, shortly after the 2-1 win that clinched the series 2-1. "We're happy we did what it takes to get it done."
The team is now off to the Governors Cup.
Juárez won series MVP honors on the strength of his .500 batting average during the series. He also had a .500 on-base percentage and 0 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 1 runs.
The Schlitz Tallboys will play against the Chevrolet Chevys in the next round. Chevrolet won their series against the Coca-Cola Splash 2 games to 0. The Governors Cup is scheduled to begin on March 5th , 2053.
