Sanders Gone for Season in Torrance: The doctors have spoken and Cliff Sanders of the Torrance Oilers didn't like what he heard. The 22-year-old left fielder is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Sanders sustained his season-ending injury during the Hyattsville AllHawks game yesterday at Cabarrus County Stadium. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while running the bases. Today the Torrance medical staff reported Sanders had a torn posterior cruciate ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 9 months.

This year Sanders has hit at a .307 clip with 57 RBIs, 20 home runs and 49 runs scored.
