Rockford Takes Divisional Series: The Rockford Playboys have swept the Newark Knights and are on to the League Championship. Rockford won 3-2 today at Sluggers Stadium to clinch the Divisional Series.
"We're happy to have put the dagger in when we had the chance," said Rockford center fielder Ralph Neben, who was named MVP for the series. "It could have been a tough series to finish if we let them start winning."
Neben won the award with a .545 batting average and a .545 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 2 runs.
