Rio de Janeiro's Hildebrandt ABL Star of the Week: With some great hand-eye coordination and a sweet, compact swing, Rio de Janeiro Jaguars second baseman Gotthold Hildebrandt took the Americas Baseball League by storm this past week to take the latest Player of the Week honors.
"The ball was looking like a beach ball all week," a happy Hildebrandt said to BNN reporters. "When it's that big, it doesn't matter where they throw it -- I can hit it anywhere."
The 26-year-old second baseman hit .522 (12-for-23) last week with 1 home run, 10 RBIs and 4 runs scored.
This season Hildebrandt has hit at a .243 clip with 41 RBIs, 9 home runs and 35 runs scored.
