Relief Star Wins MiLPBE Top Pitcher Honors: Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Alan Geese, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Amarillo Armadillos closer, 18, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .122 average and walked away with the Minor League PBE Pitcher of the Month award for July.

Geese posted a 1-0 mark and a 0.00 ERA in 11 relief appearances. In 12 innings, he had 7 saves, 8 strikeouts, and 2 walks.

For the season Geese has earned 11 saves, worked 20.2 innings, fanned 16 hitters and recorded a 3.48 ERA. He has held opposing teams to a .169 batting average.
