Red-Hot Walker Scorches Sea Dogs: Even as a kid, Kelsey Walker said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Sea Dogs Park today, Walker showed how well he learned that lesson.

The 21-year-old second baseman had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the Athletic Club KC U-21, helping his team knock off the Maine Sea Dogs by a score of 9-4.

"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today."

Kelsey Walker singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Héctor Mendoza in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Donald Michael in the 9th.

This year Walker has 18 home runs and a .289 batting average.
