Reading Advances to AA Championship: The Reading Fightin Phils have eliminated the El Paso Destroyers and are off to the AA Championship.
Reading won the final game by a 4-0 score and thus clinched the series 4-1.
"We think this is our year, but we're taking it one game at a time," said Michael Chavis, who was named series MVP.
For the series, Chavis hit .565 with a .583 on-base percentage. He drove in 8 RBI and scored 5 runs.
The Reading Fightin Phils don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Chattanooga Lookouts - Pensacola Blue Wahoos series. Chattanooga leads the series 3 games to 1. The AA Championship schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.
