Razor-Sharp García Blanks Minneapolis: The Atlantic City Aces did little to support starter Javier García against the Minneapolis Maulers, but it turned out he didn't need the help.
The left-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Maulers, striking out 4 and surrendering 4 hits. The performance from García allowed Atlantic City to escape with the 3-0 win despite an anemic offense.
"Nobody came to me and said 'Javier, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," García told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."
This year García has compiled a 13-13 mark with a 3.98 ERA.
