Quinn Batters Memphis for 5 Hits: Even as a kid, Ethan Quinn said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Coors Field today, Quinn showed how well he learned that lesson.
The 26-year-old left fielder had 5 hits in 6 at-bats for the Colorado Rockies, helping his team knock off the Memphis Blues by a score of 18-9.
"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today."
Ethan Quinn hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run triple in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th.
Quinn is presently hitting at a .285 pace with 11 home runs, 32 RBIs and has scored 45 times.
