Puyallup HS Sweeps Jefferson City HS: It was a glorious moment for Vandals fans today as Puyallup HS claimed the 2058 HS Championship title with a 6-4 victory at Vandal Field.

Jubilant Puyallup HS players swamped each other on the diamond after completing a dominant sweep of the Jefferson City HS Jaguars, as chants of "Thank you, Vandals" reverberated all around the ballpark.

In the losing dugout, sadness reigned. Jaguars skipper Enoch Cahill told reporters it was "hard to describe" the feeling of losing in the HS Championship.

"Your heart is heavy, you are hurting -- it's a very difficult time," he said. "And to be swept is embarrassing. You just want to forget it ever happened."

For the Puyallup HS Vandals, it was a season to remember. They finished the regular season with a record of 22-18, good enough for third place in the Pacific Division. Then they topped it off by winning the HS Championship 2-0.
