Put-In-Bay Pitcher Gets Outstanding Hitter Award: For fans of the Put-In-Bay Commodores, there was certainly no doubting the value of Mark Cunningham this season.
Now the 22-year-old pitcher has an award to show just how valuable he was, as he's been named the 2054 USSL Single A Outstanding Hitter Award winner. His remarkable campaign saw him put up a 17-1 record. In 20 starts he piled up 153.2 innings, had 151 strikeouts with 26 walks and a 1.76 ERA. Cunningham held opposing hitters to a .196 batting average and compiled a 4.9 WAR. He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Wayne Goodman of the Delmarva Gallos finished second in voting, while Yerson Acevedo of the Delmarva Gallos finished third.
