Padres Karim Friedman Will Miss Season: San Diego reliever Karim Friedman could miss the remainder of the season because of a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. He exited yesterday's Los Angeles game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Friedman would be out 12 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."

For the year Friedman has collected 1 save in 18 relief appearances. He has also notched 110 strikeouts and 40 walks in 124 innings while registering a 5.95 ERA and a 7-14 won-lost record.
