Northwestern HS Loses James Churchill for Season: The doctors have spoken and James Churchill of the Northwestern HS Titans didn't like what he heard. The 16-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Churchill sustained his season-ending injury during the Notre Dame HS Knights game yesterday at Titan Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Northwestern HS medical staff reported Churchill had a torn back muscle and would be absent from the lineup for at least 4-5 months.

Churchill has made 8 starts this season, posting 1 win and 3 losses. Opposing clubs are batting .283 against him and he has 27 strikeouts in 29.2 innings with a 5.46 ERA.
