New York, Philadelphia Agree to Swap: The New York Gothams and Philadelphia Sailors have put the finishing touches on a deal that was weeks in the making. New York will part with 32-year old 3B Frank Covarrubias, while the Sailors have dealt 33-year old SS Harry Woodruff.

"This one took a while to figure out," said New York general manager Tom Ward. "We must have gone back to the drawing board five or six times over the past few weeks. I'm glad we finally got the deal done. I think it is a good one for both clubs."

Covarrubias has played in 784 games with a .280 lifetime batting average. Among his 679 hits are 134 doubles, 19 triples and 19 home runs. He also has scored 284 runs and driven in 300 runs.

Lifetime Woodruff has hit .236 with 134 hits, 8 home runs, 65 RBIs and scored 70 runs.
