Montes Swings for the Cycle: Carlos Montes truly did it all at Cougars Park today.
The Chicago Cougars center fielder hit for the cycle -- collecting 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run -- as he paced his club to victory, 11-4 over the Brooklyn Kings.
"You know that sweet sound you hear when you hit the ball just right? I heard that every time today," Montes said later. "It was a heck of a feeling."
It was a game good enough for him to make a little history. He bombed Brooklyn pitching for 4 hits in 4 at-bats and his name will now go into the record books. Montes also racked up 7 runs batted in and 2 runs scored in the game.
