Milwaukee's Hartman Top Pitcher in May: Milwaukee Dairymen starter Mel Hartman has collected the National Baseball League Pitcher of the Month award for a run of lights-out performances.

In May the 23-year-old compiled a 5-1 record in 6 starts with a 2.23 ERA. He threw 44.1 innings, fanning 34 while walking 14.
This year Hartman has compiled a 7-2 record with a 2.50 ERA in 9 starts.
