McKenzie Homers 3 Times Against Florida: Amarillo Armadillos left fielder Kurtis McKenzie put on a dazzling display of power today at The Mound against the Florida Flamingos. In the 19-3 Armadillos victory McKenzie penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts.

"He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Florida manager said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well."

Along with his three home runs, the 20-year-old had 4 hits in 5 at-bats, 6 RBIs and 4 runs scored.

"Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," McKenzie said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today."

Kurtis McKenzie hit a three-run home run off Theodore Furnace in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Theodore Furnace in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, walked in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Jacob Sanders in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th.

Currently McKenzie is batting .303 with 9 home runs, 34 RBIs and 19 runs scored.
