Manning, Trevino Suspended for Fracas: After an intense confrontation, both the Steaks Kirk Manning and the Skeeters Alex Trevino were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Omaha-Glendale game. Kirk Manning will miss 2 games, while Alex Trevino was suspended for 6 games.
"Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Kirk Manning commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play."
Manning is batting .218 this season in 61 games with 10 home runs, 19 RBIs and 30 runs scored. He has 39 hits in 179 at-bats.
This year Trevino has fanned 91 in 115.2 innings and collected a 6-6 record with a 2.65 ERA.
