Macon's Wilson Nets Sally Pitcher of the Year Award: Macon's Jerry Wilson took home the 1962 South Atlantic Baseball League Pitcher of the Year Award earlier today after a remarkable season on the mound.

With a record of 14-6, Wilson was certainly a worthy winner. He made 25 starts and posted 207.1 innings, 150 strikeouts and a 2.04 ERA.

He received 6 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Joe Quade of the Macon Peaches finished second in voting, while Alberto Vinueza of the Norfolk Tides finished third.
