Mackinac Island Snaps Hanneken's Streak at 22: Dominick Hanneken saw his 22-game hitting streak wither and die today during the Eugene Sting win over Mackinac Island at Ballpark of Jersey City. The 22-year-old left fielder was held hitless in 4 at-bats by the Mackinac Island Muskrats, but his teammates produced enough offense to take the game, 6-3.

"Am I disappointed about the hit streak? Maybe, just a little bit," a seemingly upbeat Hanneken told reporters in the clubhouse. "But really, how could you be unhappy after you hit in 22 straight games? I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did. Life is good."

This year Hanneken is hitting .343 with 131 hits, 18 home runs, 84 RBIs and has scored 63 runs.
