League Rules Rios Out 3 Games: There was a hostile encounter between Francisco Rios and the men in blue in yesterday's Schaumburg-Evansville game. The Boomers right fielder was tossed for arguing a called third strike. Actually he did a little more than just complain about the call -- he got in the umpire's face and had to be restrained by his manager.

"I don't think I did anything to deserve to be thrown out of the game in the first place, never mind be suspended," Rios stated. "That's unbelievable. I still don't know why he threw me out of the game. I didn't charge over there until after he gave me the heave-ho."

The league office did not agree with his assessment of the confrontation and suspended Rios for 3 games.

For the year Rios has hit at a .296 clip with 25 RBIs, 8 home runs and 32 runs scored.
