Kwakou Tags Number 500: The Louisville Sluggers had something to celebrate today even though they dropped a 7-4 decision to Yellow Springs. The reason -- the splendid slugger Semei Kwakou hit his 500th career homer in today's contest at Utopia Field.
"I'm fortunate to be here," Kwakou told the media after the game. "The Sluggers have a classy organization and some great fans. Homer #500 was for them."
Looking at his career numbers, Kwakou has played in 1998 games with a .327 batting average. Among his 2573 hits are 474 doubles, 112 triples and 500 home runs. He also has scored 1407 runs and driven in 1531 runs.
