Message:
Johnson Jacks 3 into the Stands: Billings Polar Bears first baseman Jason Johnson slugged three home runs against the St. Petersburg Thunder at Baby Thunder Dome, but couldn't win the game all by himself. The Thunder spoiled his day by defeating the Polar Bears, 8-7.

"The loss puts a damper on the outstanding game Jason had, but people will be buzzing about this for days to come," Billings manager Steve Ferguson. "That's gotta be some consolation to him. But knowing Jason, he would have preferred a win."

For the game, Johnson was 4-for-5 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.

"The first two I got all of them and it was no doubt they were gone," Johnson said later. "It seemed like the wind helped it a little on that last one. I just wish Mother Nature had helped us win the game, too."

Jason Johnson walked in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Mark Peterson in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Carlos Vidro in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Carlos Vidro in the 8th and doubled in the 10th.

A look at his season totals shows Johnson with 7 home runs, .348 BA, .434 OBP, 21 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
