Ishikawa Records Shutout Against Shorebirds: In a seemingly effortless performance, Rupert Ishikawa of the Bloomington Cardinals shot down the Myrtle Beach Shorebirds 4-0 on a 5-hit shutout.
"Rupert was just locating so well and using his pitches," Bloomington manager Cristian Stamps said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
Ishikawa recorded 8 strikeouts and no walks in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Myrtle Beach manager Norm Downward said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
