Injury Sidelines Nick Mays for Season: Doctors in St. Louis said Nick Mays might not play anymore this year. The Cardinals starting pitcher suffered a stretched elbow ligament during a game against the San Francisco Giants and will be out for at least 11 months. Club officials told BNN they do not expect him to return to the team this season.

To date this season Mays sports a 7-7 mark with a 5.63 ERA in 20 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .279 batting average and has 92 strikeouts in 118.1 innings.
