Hot Bat Cooled, Friar Hitless Against Ranas: All good things must come to an end -- and so it was today for Jakob Friar as he saw his 22-game hitting streak end. He went hitless in 4 at-bats at the hands of the Puerto Rico Ranas.

It wasn't all bad for the 20-year-old second baseman and the State College Swift Steeds however, as they defeated Puerto Rico 3-0 at Kay Faraday Memorial Stadium.

When asked about his hitting streak, a smiling Friar laughed and said, "I guess my luck ran out today."

In his stats this season, Friar has posted a batting average of .289 with 85 hits in 294 at-bats, 13 home runs and 56 RBIs. He has also scored 37 runs, walked 16 times and compiled a .326 OBP.
