Horton Blasts 3 into Bleachers: Fans seated in the bleacher section at Threshers Ballpark were taking cover all day long as Nate Horton zeroed in on them, rattling three long blasts off the seats in a display of Herculean power.
The big game from the Nephi right fielder helped the Threshers take the victory, 12-6, over the Detroit Tigers.
"I told myself not to press on the last one," he told reporters in the postgame press conference. "I knew I couldn't force it -- it has to be a nice easy swing."
For the game, he collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 5 and scored 4 runs.
Nate Horton walked in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Manny Baez in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Manny Baez in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Francisco Lopez in the 7th.
So far this year Horton is batting .337 with 13 home runs, 55 RBIs and 41 runs scored.
