Hayes Socks 200th HR: Swinging his way into the record books, Elwood Hayes reached the 200 homer mark today at The Scudder Forty-Three Stadium against the San Antonio Sloths. He went 2-for-4 with 1 run batted in and 2 runs on the day, although Vancouver would go down to defeat 5-3.
"It was a distraction," Hayes said of his 200th home run. "I'm happy it's over. I just wish I'd been able to make a difference in the outcome today."
Over his career Hayes is batting .260 with 200 home runs and 643 RBIs. In 1147 games he has delivered 1136 hits, scored 577 runs, stolen 2 bases and gotten on base at a .326 clip.
