Hat Trick of Home Runs for Short: Tim Short went the distance three times in the Torrance-Hyattsville tilt at Cabarrus County Stadium today, but the Oilers lost, 9-7.

"I was in a groove and every pitch they tossed up there looked like a basketball," he said. "I tell you what, I was surprised because I didn't think the last ball had enough to get out. I thought it was just going to be a long out."

Tim Short struck out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off T.J. Beck in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off T.J. Beck in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off T.J. Beck in the 6th and flied out in the 8th.
