Hardy Pounds 3 HR: Jim Hardy went the distance three times in the Lethbridge-Rocky Mountain tilt at Howard Johnson Field today, but the Black Diamonds lost, 7-6.

"Gosh, it's a shame we didn't win this game," Hardy said later.

For the day, the Lethbridge first baseman went 3-for-3 against Rocky Mountain with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting.

"I was in a groove and every pitch they tossed up there looked like a basketball," he said. "I tell you what, I was surprised because I didn't think the last ball had enough to get out. I thought it was just going to be a long out."

Jim Hardy hit a two-run home run off Hoyt Malone in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Hoyt Malone in the 4th, walked in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Hoyt Ervin in the 8th.

Presently Hardy is batting .409 with 5 home runs and 7 RBIs. He has played in 7 games and scored 6 times.
