In an unforgettable performance, the 27-year-old Grisez fanned 15 Clowns and sparked the Cleveland Spiders to a 4-0 victory over Indianapolis. He left Clowns hitters mumbling and muttering at the plate. And when he needed a strikeout, he got it.
"I don't know if there are many times that I've seen him throw better," said Cleveland manager Joe Halloran. "His location and command were really something."
In addition to collecting 15 strikeouts over 7.1 innings, Grisez allowed 2 hits and 1 walk in a superlative outing.
"I thought I'd make it easy on the guys today," Grisez said with a smile.
This season Grisez has 17 wins and 11 losses and a 3.33 ERA.
