Green Socks It to Aggies, Cracks 5 Hits: No matter what the Texas A&M Aggies threw at him today, Wilt Green hit it. He easily handled Aggies pitching, going 5 for 6 and helping the Cardinal to a 12-7 triumph at Ballpark of Phoenix College.
"The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview.
Told of Green's quip, Aggies skipper Milt Gardner said he "would take him up on that next time."
Wilt Green singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
This year Green has hit at a .419 clip with 7 RBIs, 1 home run and 6 runs scored.
