Green Bay Advances to Round 2: Despite the best efforts of Bobby McCarthy, the Green Bay Huskies have won the Round 1.
The Saskatoon Legends standout was named series MVP, even though his team lost to Green Bay 9-4 in the final game, and dropped the series 3-1.
"Hats off to them, they deserve to be moving on," McCarthy said at Naturals Ballpark after being awarded his MVP trophy. "I just wish I could trade this trophy in for a chance at the Round 3."
For their part, the Huskies celebrated long into the night, as they are now set to move on to the Round 2.
The Green Bay Huskies don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Brainerd Seagulls - Granville Greyhounds series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
