Fry Hits in 20 Straight Games: French Fry continued his streak at ENRON Envirodoam Sponsored by Lehman Brothers and WorldCom today, even as the ballgame did not go his way. The California center fielder was 1-for-4 in today's contest and now has hit safely in his last 20 games. The Firehawks were not as fortunate, losing 6-5 to the Amarillo Armadillos.
"Fry was hitting everything we threw at him," said Amarillo manager . "He is a tough out. Fortunately, things went our way in the ballgame today and we came away with a win."
French Fry walked in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Gritty in the 7th and grounded out in the 10th.
This season Fry is batting .302 with 71 hits, 7 home runs, 21 RBIs, 19 walks, .353 OBP and has scored 43 runs. He has played in 53 games.
