Firebirds Clinch Playoff Appearance: There's more drama in store for fans of the Chandlers Firebirds.
The team has narrowly won a wild card berth in the season's final days and now will be looking to parlay that into the 3rd Rookie Cup championship in team history.
"Never in doubt, we knew we'd get in," joked reliever Stedman Ortiz as he mockingly wiped sweat from his brow. "Now that we're in, we can relax a bit."
But there won't be too much relaxing, as the BLB Rookie League playoffs are right around the corner.
