Fermin Torches Giants for 5 Hits: No matter what the San Jose Giants threw at him today, Jose Fermin hit it. He easily handled Giants pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Tortugas to a 11-1 triumph at Jackie Robinson Ballpark.
"The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview.
Told of Fermin's quip, Giants skipper Dave Martinez said he "would take him up on that next time."
Jose Fermin singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, doubled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
So far this year Fermin has 3 home runs and a .315 batting average.
