Federal Association Names Day Best Player: It's been a year of triumph for veteran Pete Day of the Boston Minutemen as he hit his way to the 1943 Federal Association Whitney Award.

The 32-year-old veteran compiled a .304 average and .396 on-base percentage by putting together 182 hits, 35 doubles, 10 triples, 2 home runs and 94 walks. He also scored 108 times and drove in 64 runs.

He received 7 first place votes out of a possible 16. Al Tucker of the St. Louis Pioneers finished second in voting with 6 first place votes, while Bobby Barrell of the Philadelphia Keystones finished third with 3 first place votes.
