Exports Evan LaFreniere to Miss Year: The doctors have spoken and Evan LaFreniere of the Montreal Exports didn't like what he heard. The 24-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. LaFreniere sustained his season-ending injury during the Toronto Canadians game yesterday at Spring Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Montreal medical staff reported LaFreniere had a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 14 months.
